Chef Angel Ramos has taken vegan cooking to new creative heights with a flair for combining flavors and textures with multicultural influences. Chef Ramos is the only vegetarian chef to be reviewed by Frank Bruni of the New York Times, and is an acknowledged master of vegan organic cuisine. Chef Ramos is also coauthor of the Candle 79 Cookbook.
Chef Jorge Pineda has been delighting Candle customers for over a decade as pastry chef and chef de cuisine. He has taught plant-based cooking for charitable organizations. He has also worked as a consultant for cooking events held at the Plaza, Waldorf-Astoria, Tavern on the Green, and Cipriani, and he has taught classes in plant-based cooking at Lottie’s Kitchen and at Macy’s DiGustibus Cooking School. Chef Pineda is a major contributor to the Candle Cafe Cookbook and coauthor of the Candle 79 Cookbook. He has worked extensively with the NYC school system and various charitable organizations to improve school food and the health of children everywhere.
